Adolescents

Essential Life Skills for Teens Program This service is eligible for coverage through OAP funding and may also be reimbursed by health care benefits (insurance providers).
This skill-building program is specifically designed for adolescents, providing them with essential tools to navigate a critical stage of life where rapid changes and challenges emerge. During this transformative period, young individuals often struggle to develop the skills necessary for a strong foundation and a successful future.
Our program focuses on key areas of development, equipping adolescents with practical knowledge and strategies to thrive:
  • Time Management – Organizing schedules effectively to maximize productivity.
  • Communication – Expressing thoughts clearly and building meaningful connections.
  • Financial Literacy – Understanding money management and responsible financial habits.
  • Critical Thinking – Developing problem-solving skills and informed decision-making.
  • Self-Care – Prioritizing mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
  • Stress Management, Emotional Regulation & Conflict Resolution – Navigating challenges with resilience and healthy coping strategies.
  • Internet Safety – Practicing responsible and secure online behaviour.
  • Human Relationships – Building strong friendships and fostering positive interactions.
  • Employment Skills – Preparing for future career opportunities with practical job skills.
  • Handling Peer Pressure – Cultivating confidence and assertiveness in social situations.
By focusing on these areas, we empower adolescents to step into adulthood with confidence, knowledge, and the ability to overcome obstacles.

How the program works

Goals are set after an assessment. The program is run either in group or individually, depending
on the similarities of the goals current clients have. A group session is formed when there are compatible goals, otherwise the program is delivered on one to one basis. Because every individual person learns at their own pace, progress is quantified and measured to determine goals are being achieved. The modality of the intervention can be in person one on one or virtual, group session.
